We love making these yogurt parfaits for breakfast, especially in the summer when berries and other fresh fruit are abundant. They can be prepared in just minutes making them ideal for those hectic mornings.

These parfaits are so creamy and delicious, you’ll feel like you’re eating dessert for breakfast! But they’re also full of plant based nutrition with the fresh fruit, the oats in the granola, and the probiotics in the yogurt.

And speaking of dessert, these parfaits would make a beautiful dessert for your next dinner party. If you use blueberries and raspberries, the patriotic colors would make it a perfect dessert for a holiday like Memorial Day or 4th of July.

Ingredients you need

You only need a few easy ingredients to make these dairy free parfaits.

  • Dairy-free yogurt – there are several dairy free brands of yogurt in the stores these days. There are soy, almond, cashew, coconut, and oat varieties. The soy varieties tend to be lowest in fat, and the almond varieties tend to be highest in fiber. I prefer to purchase plain or vanilla yogurt for these parfaits. If you choose plain yogurt, you can stir in a little vegan sweetener and a touch of vanilla to flavor the yogurt. Use whatever brand of yogurt you like.
  • Fresh fruit – Fresh berries are especially good in these parfaits, but other options could be peaches or nectarines, pear, apricots, mango, or cherries.
  • Granola – I used my homemade vegan granola in this recipe, but store bought granola will also work. Just watch for sugar and oil content (yes – most store-bought granola contains oil). Some granola also contains honey, which is not vegan.

Optional ingredients and toppings

  • Add some nuts or seeds to the granola layer such as pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, walnuts, or almonds.
  • Use frozen fruit instead of fresh fruit.
  • Add a layer of my Berry Sauce in addition to or on place of the fruit layer.

How to make these vegan yogurt parfaits

This recipe simply requires layering the yogurt, fruit, and granola in a glass cup or jar. I like to end my layering with a dollop of yogurt and a fresh berry or two for a fancy touch.
